1is French women’s tennis tournament, 1is sporting event in the Grand Est and 1is French eco-responsible event, the International Strasbourg 2021 will be held from May 16 to 22, 2021 at the foot of the European Parliament, at the Strasbourg Tennis Club in Strasbourg.
Traditionally held the week before Roland Garros, the “IS” – with the same balls as at Roland Garros, the same clay (identical) and a special atmosphere – are the home stretch before the Grand Slam located at Paris. These exceptional conditions are highly appreciated by the players, which allows the tournament to obtain an exceptional sports field each year.
In 2020, the postponed edition of the tournament was held in September, due to the global health crisis linked to COVID-19. The IS welcomed 12 players from the Top 50, including 2 from the Top 10 and 4 players from the Top 20, the best field ever! It was the Ukrainian Elina SVITOLINA, world No. 5, who came to mark her name on the IS list for this very special 2020 edition.
In 2021, the Strasbourg Internationals will continue to develop around 3 strong axes: women, sport and eco-responsibility.
