KEEL. On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, Minister of Finance Monika Heinold invites eight interested schoolgirls aged 12 and over to Girls’ Day in the Ministry of Finance. On April 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the schoolgirls can gain an insight into the work of the minister and her team.

“Girls’ Day is an important orientation service that promotes the idea of choosing a career and study free from role clichés. If we want to get more women interested in finance jobs in the future, we have to get girls interested in it today. That’s why the Ministry of Finance is once again taking part in Girls’ Day and showing schoolgirls career paths in the world of finance,” explained Finance Minister Monika Heinold.

Girls’ Day takes place in over 20 countries worldwide and was first launched in Germany in 2001. On this day, companies, businesses and authorities across Germany open their doors to schoolgirls. The aim is to give the girls an understanding of professional fields in which women have so far been underrepresented and to enable them to meet role models in management positions in business and politics.
