Cologne (SID) – Former Bundesliga coach Joe Zinnbauer has resigned as coach of the traditional South African football club Orlando Pirates. The club announced on Monday.
“I have spent the last two years away from my family and therefore decided to hand in my resignation. I would like to wish the club and its fans all the best for the future,” Zinnbauer was quoted as saying on the Pirates website.
The former HSV coach had hired the club from Soweto at the end of 2019. A year later, he triumphed in the South African League Cup. The previous Premiership season had the Orlando Pirates only finished third.
