Armor made of heavy layers of iron impervious to fire and rain, and guns that could fire accurately. A helmet that communicates surrounding information like a computer screen.
If we thought that these were descriptions of the armor worn by the movie hero Iron Man, we would be wrong. It’s about the latest Iron Man suit that Russia is expected to field in the war in Ukraine. Russia’s latest Iron Man costume gives us a feeling of what it would be like to have characters from a spooky sci-fi story or Star Wars movie in front of us.
The Russia-Ukraine war is in limbo. The war, which was thought to be over in just a week or two, continues to drag on. Western aid is what keeps the tiny country of Ukraine from falling to arms giant Russia. Especially Western countries provide advanced weapons.
Meanwhile, judgments about who will actually win are changing. But the fact that the war lasted so long is considered Russia’s failure. According to the New York Times report, around a lakh Russian soldiers are said to be dead.Following this, it is understood that Russia decides to release its Iron Man suits to avoid further casualties.
The Iron Man suit was developed as part of Russia’s dream project “Project Legionnaire” to make future Russian soldiers more powerful. The Iron Man suit is designed to completely cover a fighter’s body, much like the armor worn by medieval warriors.
In the early stages of the war, Russia saw this war as easily won, but they are not seeing it so lightly now that they have reversed their decision not to test the Iron Man suits in the first place and are now fielding these destroyers.
Reports are surfacing that Russia is planning to test the Iron Man suits this year to provide better durability and strength.Maxim Shkokov, CEO of Russia’s Exo Solutions, said his company had been contacted by Russian “special agencies,” indicating the possibility of using this electronic weapon in the same war in Ukraine.
But in 2018, Rostec, a multinational corporation owned by the Russian government, reportedly tested the first Russian-made combat suit. Russian military engineers are believed to have tested these armored exoskeletons known as Ratnik or Warrior in Syria. Rostec recently said it supplied 300,000 overalls to the Russian military during the Russian military operation in Syria.
But despite a flood of complaints across the country about the Russian military’s inadequate weaponry, it remains a mystery that Russia has yet to use the Ratnik on the battlefield in Ukraine. But since Ratnik will start using or enter the field, Russia’s killing spree will probably be seen later.
