The new year heads again towards the grip and rampant spread of covid. According to reports, the epidemic that confined the world’s people to their homes and rooms for two years is returning with greater force than before. With the spread of the covid virus in Japan and the United States after China, it is indicated that many countries in East Asia will soon be affected by the covid epidemic again.

Cases of covid are increasing in foreign countries including China. The number of deaths and hospitalizations in China is increasing every day. Meanwhile, China has eased restrictions. China is not officially releasing any figures.

However, the report released by the British health organization ‘Airfinity’ says that more than 10 lakh people are currently infected. This organization shares information that there are more than five thousand deaths from covid every day in China. With this, the World Health Organization makes it clear that Covid rates are soaring again and are concerned about it.

This was stated by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director general of the World Health Organization. He also said that China’s healthcare system will receive the necessary protection and support. The World Health Organization also said several countries have imposed travel bans on travelers from China.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that in the absence of accurate information on the spread, it is understandable that countries are taking steps to protect their own people. He also said that he has continuously asked China to share data and conduct studies on the emergence of Covid and others.

Current chances point to countries including India entering lockdown again within the next month. Last month, the fourth wave of covid started in China where the covid epidemic broke out. Subsequently, the disease spread to Japan and from there to Korea. Restrictions, including face masks, have been tightened again in China and Japan.

Within a month, nine and a half lakh people were re-infected with Covid in China. This is the fourth time there have been people affected by Covid-19 which is causing concern in the healthcare sector. There is also an indication that none of the preventive vaccines administered so far are producing permanent results. In the past month, 34 lakh people have been infected with the new covid in Japan.

After the pause caused by the Covid, China has announced that it will issue passports to tourists from January 8. This is part of the decision to ease the strong Covid restrictions that have been in place in the country for almost three years. From January 8, there will be no mandatory quarantine for travelers arriving in China from overseas.

But those who come from abroad will have to undergo a covid test. This avoids the latest condition imposed under the covid zero tolerance policy announced by China. At present, the mandatory quarantine imposed by China for those arriving from abroad is five days. Along with this, China has also announced that all visa restrictions will be lifted.

The restrictions that began in China in early 2020 with the spread of Covid-19 have intensified and continued without compromise until recently. However, the relaxation started recently after nationwide protests against the zero covid policy. With that, the number of covid patients has increased massively.

As the new strain of Covid spreads rapidly in China, other countries are skeptical of easing restrictions. India, the USA, Japan and many other countries have decided to make the Covid negative certificate mandatory for passengers from China.

The covid pandemic will not only create misery for people but also create great concern and uncertainty in the global financial sector. This will lead to further economic downturn and people crisis. At the same time, the central government issued an ordinance making the Covid-negative certificate mandatory for those arriving in India from six foreign countries, including China.

Passengers from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Thailand need to upload the RTPCR test result to the Air Suvidha portal. The ordinance stipulates that this will be strictly enforced from 1 January. From January 5, the negative certificate is mandatory for those coming from China. According to the Centers for Disease Control.

In 2020, Covid started in China. Initially, there was criticism that China hadn’t taken it seriously enough and hadn’t given enough warnings to other countries. It is in this context that China is still viewed with suspicion by the countries of the world. China has also been accused of not releasing enough information on the spread of the new variant.

Experts have warned that by mid-January there will be an increase in the number of covid cases in India and caution should be exercised. Currently, most international travelers who have been confirmed to have Covid-19 have mild symptoms. Therefore, experts are of the opinion that even if the number of Covid cases increases, the number of people seeking treatment in hospital will be fewer.
