International Space Station photographs Curitiba at night | Paraná

The International Space Station (ISS) published a photo of the city of Curitiba during the night. The images were released by the North American Space Agency (NASA) on a social network, on Sunday (17). Look above.

The photo was taken on the 4th of July. On the same day, agents operating the ISS also photographed the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

The photos were taken while the station was orbiting at about 420 km above the ground. In the image it is possible to see the entire capital, as well as part of the metropolitan region.

The ISS — a joint project involving five space agencies — has been in orbit since 1998 and has been continuously occupied by astronauts since 2000. More than 3,000 research projects have been carried out in its microgravity laboratory.

The station must continue working at least until 2030, according to NASA.
