On the occasion of the sixth international security day to combat crime in public spaces, the Ludwigshafen 2 police station carried out checks on Wednesday evening (May 24th, 2023) between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., especially in restaurants, in the northern city center.
The thematic focus of the control day, in which the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate took part, was in particular the fight against street crime, especially aggression and drug-related crime, as well as strengthening the feeling of security in the population.
A total of 63 people were checked during the controls in the northern inner city. The police forces were able to execute an open arrest warrant for one person and six other people were listed for whereabouts. In addition, the police officers deployed filed three criminal charges (two criminal charges for violations of the Narcotics Act and one criminal charge for violating the confidentiality of the word).
In addition to police officers from the Rheinpfalz police headquarters, police officers from the police headquarters for operations, technology and logistics and from the municipal enforcement service of the city of Ludwigshafen were deployed.
Irrespective of the international safety day, the Ludwigshafen 2 police station will continue to carry out checks in the city centre.
