The Ibero-American Union of Bar Associations and Associations (UIBA) re-elected the lawyer from La Plata, Carlos Andreucci, as president. The decision was adopted in Pamplona (Spain).
Andreucci, a lawyer and professor from La Plata, specializing in Administrative Law at the National University of La Plata, has a marked collegial vocation that has led him to hold the presidencies of the La Plata Bar Association, the Argentine Federation of Bar Associations, the Council of Bar Associations and Orders of Mercosur (COADEM) and of the UIBA itself in the period 2017-2022.
UIBA developed the XXIV congress in Spain and brings together legal organizations from Mexico to Argentina, Spain and Portugal, both those of law with powers delegated by the respective states and those associations where the legal profession depends directly on local judicial powers. within a universe of legal institutions in 22 countries. It also includes powerful regional organizations such as the General Council of Spanish Lawyers (CGAE), the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), the Argentine Federation of Bar Associations (FACA), the General Council of Mexican Lawyers and the Order of Lawyers of Portugal among other outstanding institutions.
As mentioned, the Pamplona Bar Association was the venue for the Congress, which met under the slogan “Technology, Human Rights, Advocacy and Sustainable Democracies” and was debated for three days in panels and conversations with speakers – women and men – from high academic and professional level.
It should be noted that along with the academic activity, the Congress of Delegates and the General Assembly were held, which dealt with various issues of an institutional nature, including the various situations for professional practice in each of the member countries, the administration of justice, the education and training programs among others.
At the proposal of the Argentine Federation of Bar Associations, Andreucci was re-elected. Meanwhile, the positions of vice presidents will be held by: Alfonso Pérez-Cuellar Martínez (Mexico); Roberto Antonio Busato (Brazil); Carmen Luz Consuegra (Colombia); Juan Carlos Araúz Ramos (Panama) and Alvaro Sánchez (Costa Rica).
