This evening, the world celebrates the International Moon Observation Night, which is a global event in which astronomers around the world observe the moon.
Astronomer Salman Al Ramadan said about that night that it witnessed associations, clubs, centers, planetariums, and individuals organizing activities around the moon. The idea was launched in 2009 with the celebration of the International Year of Astronomy on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Galileo directing his telescope toward the sky, beginning with the moon.
Time to monitor and photograph.
Astronomer Ramadan said: Usually the date of the event is on the Saturday closest to the first quarter of the moon between September and October, when the moon is half bright, which is the best time for observing and photographing, and the moon sets near midnight, so that people, especially children, do not delay their sleep, and this year it falls on Saturday, October 21. But each party can organize its activities according to what suits it.
Although what is meant is the Earth’s natural moon, the moons of the solar system are also meant now.
