More and more countries are investigating a Canadian cook who sold “suicide kits” online. After the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States, the New Zealand police are now also opening an investigation into suspicious deaths.
In Canada, 57-year-old Kenneth Law has already been charged. Law worked as a chef in a Toronto hotel and was arrested by Canadian police in May. According to The Guardian he had admitted to an undercover agent that “many, many, many, many” people died because of the means he sold them.
Canadian police believe Law had clients in more than 40 countries. He is said to have sold about twelve hundred packages to help people commit suicide.
According to British police, 88 deaths in the United Kingdom can be linked to Law. An investigation was also launched in Ireland this week into deaths that may have something to do with the sale of drugs by Law.
Law is due to appear in court in Canada next month. He says he will deny that he is guilty.
A similar case is ongoing in the Netherlands. Alex S., an Eindhoven resident who sold the deadly Drug X, not only supplied desperate individuals. A Spanish bank account shows that six customers together ordered for 30,000 euros. A dose cost 35 euros. S. was in court in July. He received 3.5 years in prison, of which 1.5 years suspended, but appealed.
