International Forum of New Music (1979-1994): 16 Years of Groundbreaking Music in Mexico

The National Institute of Arts and Literature (Inbal) and the Deputy Director General of Arts Education and Research (Sgeia), through the National Center for Music Research, Documentation and Information Carlos Chavez (Cenidim), the presentation of the book International Forum of New Music (1979-1994): 16 years of electroacoustic, multimedia and interdisciplinary music in Mexicoby researcher Iracema María de Andrade Almeida.

The work will be mentioned by Margarita Tortajada Quiroz, from the National Center for Dance Research, Documentation and Information Jose Limon; Maby Muñoz Hénonin, from the Faculty of Music at the National Autonomous University of Mexico; José Julio Díaz Infante, from the General Directorate of Music-UNAM), and Luis Jaime Cortez Méndez, Cenidim.

International Forum of New Music (1979-1994): 16 years of electroacoustic, multimedia and interdisciplinary music in Mexico It is an interactive digital publication for free download. The book provides a narrative summary of the artistic practices surrounding experimental and avant-garde music in Mexico, in the second half of the 20th century, and lists the musicians, creators and -his most representative works. With the support of audio and video capsules, the invited reporters will talk about the contents of this publication with music.

The exhibition will be held on May 2 at 6:00 pm at the Electronic Art Gallery Manuel Felguerez of the Cenart Multimedia Center. Managed by Iracema María de Andrade Almeida, author of the book and researcher at Cenidim.
