Dr. Ahmed Rashid, a consultant in obstetrics and gynecology at Ain Shams University, confirmed that 4D rays are one of the important techniques during pregnancy, as they help in detecting any abnormalities or birth defects in the fetus, because they reveal all of its internal organs, starting from the brain to the feet. The obstetrics and gynecology consultant added that these x-rays are performed in the fifth month of pregnancy, and in some cases pregnant women are subjected to x-rays in the third and then the fifth month, in order to increase reassurance about the health of the fetus.
Rashid presented the most important features that 4D rays do in detecting internal birth defects of the fetus, including:
– It reveals the health of the digestive system, and ensures that the internal organs are covered in a healthy manner.
– From the nasal bone, he can evaluate whether this fetus suffers from Down syndrome or not.
– Reveals the health of the spine and the alignment of the bones.
– Helps detect congenital heart defects.
– It detects the brain, through which the doctor can evaluate any birth defects, and in the event of an infection, determine the type that the child has, whether it is an intellectual disability or Down syndrome.
