The communities of CNRST and Nazi Boni University are organizing the 5th edition of the International Symposium on Science and Technology (SIST 2024), from October 7 to 11, 2024 at the Bobo-Dioulasso cultural house. Under the theme: “Contributing to scientific research on population resilience in the context of multidimensional crises”.
It is with the aim of providing modified and lasting solutions to the security and humanitarian crisis through innovative technology that the National Center for Research in Science and Technology (CNRST) and the Nazi University of Boni (UNB) are organizing the 5th edition of the International Symposium on Science and Technology (SIST). The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Professor Adjima Thiombiano, welcomed the holding of this exchange meeting. He suggested that this biennial conference is the place where the national and even international research players who participate online will come together. Their work, far from being part of a unidirectional movement of the academic motivation of the researcher, the teacher-researcher or the national and international student, must provide practical and pragmatic solutions to the daily problems of a population. “For them it will be a matter of proposing innovative solutions that take into account the context of multifaceted crises and our local realities to help people overcome all kinds of problems they face,” added the Minister Adjima Thiombiano launched for the participants.
During this conference, there will be round tables with researchers in several fields including: health, food, nutrition, security, biodiversity, production and the environment. According to the General Representative of the CNRST, Dr. Emmanuel Nanema, this edition is intended to be a framework for gathering information to provide solutions to the country’s problems. He also pointed out that this exchange meeting is structured around 6 introductory talks, 5 round tables, a continuous presentation of 81 posters and 8 thematic conferences in which 273 oral talks will be delivered. All such communication will be done in hybrid mode. For the president of the Nazi University of Boni (UNB), Bismarck Hassan Nacro, research and technology play a fundamental role in the transformation of societies. They pave the way for more sustainable, inclusive and intelligent solutions to the challenges that researchers encounter. “Together, we have the power and responsibility to meet the great challenges of our time and contribute to a better future, driven by science and innovation,” said Mr Nacro.
