The Antwerp police are starting an internal investigation in response to a video circulating on Twitter about a discussion between a policeman and some girls. In that video, which was made on Wednesday in the Sint-Vincentiusstraat, the officer says that he “does not want a left-wing sermon” and asks sarcastically whether the girl thinks she “will go far in life with that attitude”.

The girls would have sat too close together while eating on the floor. On Twitter, the girl involved says they belong to the same bubble. “I will send you the fine,” says the officer. What exactly precedes the images is unclear, however.
The police are aware of the incident and say they will investigate the matter internally. “No formal complaint has yet been filed, but we do recommend that the person concerned do so,” says spokesman Willem Migom of the Antwerp police.
