KOMPAS.com – Bripka BT, the perpetrator who raped a student in Banjarmasin dishonorably dismissed.
The dishonorable discharge ceremony (PTDH) was held at the Banjarmasin Police Station, Saturday (29/1/2022).
The ceremony was attended by the victim’s fellow students, the victim’s family, and the Mayor of Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina. The PTDH ceremony was also attended by the perpetrator, namely Bripka BT.

Rape student interns
The rape case carried out by Bripka MT emerged after the victim, who had the initials VDPS, spilled his stories on social media.
VDPS is a student at a well-known university in Banjarmasin. VDPS’s story has gone viral on social media and has become a public concern in Banjarmasin.
On social media, the victim recounted in detail the rape case she experienced.
The incident began when he was an apprentice at the Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Unit from July 4 to August 14, 2021.

After the internship, the perpetrator still often contacted the victim to take him for a walk. However, the victim always refuses for various reasons.
“Why do I want to be introduced to you because at that time, I was reluctant to work with him. Moreover, I am an intern,” said VDPS as he wrote on his social media.
On another occasion, VDPS finally agreed to take the perpetrators for a walk using a car.
It turned out that the perpetrator had planned to rape the victim. He bought energy drinks at a supermarket and mixed them with drugs.
The victim was initially suspicious when he was forced to drink energy drinks. But he continued to be forced until finally limp.
In a helpless condition, the victim was taken to the hotel and raped twice.
“I was put in a hotel room, that night he had sex with me twice in my helpless state,” he wrote again.
VDPS reported the incident to the police. Over time, the court sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months in prison. VDPS was disappointed because the sentence was considered very light.
“I am a victim of rape by unscrupulous officers, but the defendant was only sentenced to 2 years and 6 months. Where is justice? The perpetrator has destroyed my physical and psychological life for life,” annoyed VDPS.
Campus and advocacy team visit the High Prosecutor’s Office
Knowing that the verdict was very light, the campus and the VDS advocacy team immediately reacted.
They went to the South Kalimantan High Prosecutor’s Office to question the prosecutor’s decision not to demand severe punishment for the accused.
“We regret that the prosecutor’s request is lighter even though it could be even more severe,” said Abdul Halim Berkatullah, the VDS advocacy team to reporters, Tuesday (25/1/2022).

According to Halim, the VDPS advocacy team together with the campus will conduct a study on why the demands are so light.
“We will do a study of what is the background to why the claim is so light,” he explained.
In addition, students in Banjarmasin also held demonstrations related to the rape case experienced by their colleague. They demanded that the perpetrators of rape be fired.

Meanwhile, the South Kalimantan Attorney General’s Intelligence Assistant, Abdul Rahman, said in front of reporters that the Public Prosecutor (JPU) had gone through various considerations before charging the defendant.
One of the things that eased the demands was that the defendant had apologized.
The apology was even followed by an attempt to make peace between the perpetrator and the victim signed in black and white.
Apart from apologizing and supporting the family, there is another reason the Public Prosecutor accepted the judge’s decision.

“Because the verdict has met half of the demands,” he explained.
Even so, according to Rahman, the South Kalimantan Prosecutor’s Office will still clarify the prosecutor who is handling the case.
Rahman will immediately order the South Kalimantan Attorney General’s Office to provide clarification as soon as possible.
“Clarification is carried out to find out whether there is a disciplinary violation or not, in the process of handling the case in question,” he concluded.

Bripka BT, the perpetrator of the rape, had filed an appeal against the case that happened to him.
He appealed to the South Kalimantan Police hoping that he would get a lighter sentence and not be fired as a member of the National Police.
However, Bripka BT’s appeal was rejected and would still be dishonorably dismissed.
The dismissal of the Bripka MK Langdung was carried out by the Head of the Banjarmasin Police, Kombes Sabana Atmojo.

Sabana took off all the Police attributes worn by BT. When giving a speech, Sabana said that BT’s actions were very shameful.
“We and the entire staff strongly condemn the actions of the BT Brigadier General. In our opinion, it is heinous,” he said, Saturday (29/1/2022).
According to Sabana, BT’s actions were a serious violation.
“PTDH’s decision is the highest threat, so that individuals no longer have their rights in the Police,” he said.

Sabana also reminded all staff not to commit violations that could harm the community or themselves.
