Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev announced a reshuffle to head seven regional offices of the Interior Ministry in Sofia.
The reason for the change in the leadership of the regional interior ministry are the numerous inspections. “The people we will replace have not created a police umbrella on anyone, but they have not created the necessary organization to work so that the Semerdzhiev case and many other shocking cases do not happen,” the interior minister stressed.
The personnel changes were agreed with Senior Commissioner Kaloyan Miltenov, head of the SDVR.
The reason for the reshuffle is the numerous checks, the minister specified from the office of Galab Donev.

In the second RU SDVR Venelin Stankov will be replaced by Ivan Doichev, secret service officer, second sector of the fight against crime
In the Third RU, Alexander Alexandrov will be replaced by Ivaylo Velichkov of the SDVR Economic Police.
In the 4th police station, Rumen Kostadinov will be replaced by Christian Tonev from the 1st police station of the Ministry of the Interior.
In the 5th RU of the Ministry of the Interior, Plamen Maksimov will be appointed by the 5th sector of “Criminal” in the Ministry of Interior in place of Marieta Ivanova.
In the 6th RU of the Ministry of the Interior, Plamen Kolev will be appointed in place of Delyan Geshev.
In the 7th police station, Radostin Angelov will be reassigned to replace Ani Petrova.
Svetoslav Stoykov will be appointed to replace Valery Simeonov in the eighth police station of the capital.
The dismissed employees will be reassigned to other locations.

According to him, a systemic problem is the lack of control by local superiors and the lack of organization. The cases are numerous, not limited to the Semerdzhiev case.

Regarding the police drug testing, Demerdzhiev explained that they are exchanging regulations with the Minister of Health so that blood samples can be taken in more areas and hospitals. “The police will do what all citizens do. From February we will also examine our colleagues who do not drive,” Demerdzhiev said of drug tests for police officers.
