The police arrested six men on Monday evening who allegedly held a meeting in the name of Hells Angels. The building in Utrecht they were in that evening was filled with expressions of the banned motorcycle club. According to the police, the building appeared to be used as a pub.
The police raided the building on Twijnstraat aan de Werf on behalf of the Public Prosecution Service (OM). The police and the municipality suspected that secret meetings of the banned motorcycle club took place in that building.
Those suspicions were confirmed, police said. The property was not furnished as a residence, but appeared to be used for “non-permitted catering purposes”. It was also full of Hells Angels expressions. The police are not giving more details.
The six men are suspected of participating in the continuation of a banned organization. In addition, one of them had drugs and a baton with him. The municipality immediately closed the building.
The court in Utrecht banned Hells Angels in 2019. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the motorcycle club “glorified and facilitated” violence and other crimes. Due to the ban, it is not allowed to wear clothing from the motorcycle club in public.
