According to a media report, several clubs from Saudi Arabia are interested in signing ex-world champion Julian Draxler.
According to information from the TV broadcaster Sky, a change of the 29-year-old offensive player is not excluded. The 58-time national soccer player is still under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2024, but was last loaned to the Portuguese champions Benfica Lisbon.
But Draxler could hardly recommend himself there. In his first 18 games for Benfica he has managed just two goals and no assists. The former Schalke player was then slowed down by an injury to his left ankle. According to French media reports, the new PSG coach Luis Enrique should not plan with Draxler. The midfielder is also absent from the club’s squad for the upcoming Asian tour.
After superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, top players Karim Benzema from Real Madrid and N’Golo Kanté from Chelsea recently switched to the Saudi league in the winter. In addition, the clubs from Saudi Arabia keep attracting other stars and coaches from Europe with offers worth millions.
