Intercepted at 246 km / h on the A31 motorway

At this speed, impossible to plead the error of inattention. This Sunday, November 22 in the middle of the afternoon, a young German of 30 was checked at 246 km / h at the wheel of a powerful sedan on the A31 between Beaune and Nancy. Perhaps he thought he was on one of those sections of the German motorway where speed is not limited.

The car was flashed at Arc-sur-Tille by the Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur brigade. At this speed, it is too perilous to attempt an interception, the gendarmes therefore warned their colleagues from Haut-Marne who stopped the car in Langres.

The driver’s license was immediately withdrawn. He also had to pay a deposit of 1,500 euros and will be summoned to a criminal court to answer for his dangerous driving. The car was not confiscated. It is the passenger who took the wheel to continue the journey.

13 license withdrawals this weekend in Côte-d’Or

This speeding is unfortunately probably a record, but it is not the only one of the weekend. This Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, the gendarmes of Côte-d’Or proceeded to 13 withdrawals of driving licenses for excessive speeding, that is to say exceedances of 40 km / h above the authorized limit.
