Intercepted a boat with 14 people on board, the seventh of the week in Alicante | Radio Alicante | Present

A boat with about 14 people on board has been intercepted this Sunday off the coast of Alicante, as reported by Red Cross sources.

The boat has been located during the afternoon of this Sunday about 40 miles off the coast of Alicante. Maritime Rescue has proceeded to take her to the Port of Alicante, where she arrived at around 7:00 p.m.

It’s about the seventh kicker intercepted in the province this week and so far in 2020. The first was located this Thursday at 04.00 on Thursday with nine adults and three minors – 3, 10 and 12 years old – in waters of Torrevieja.

Four boats on Friday

Likewise, on friday four boats were located and rescued this Friday in the waters of Alicante with 55 people on board, of which at least seven claimed to be minors, as reported by Maritime Rescue, Civil Guard and Alicante Red Cross.

The second boat of the week and the first one on Friday was located after midnight in Pilar de la Horadada and in it were eight Algerian men who were in good health. In the third boat they traveled 13 men, seven of whom say they are minors between 15 and 17 years old. All are in good health.

The fourth boat was spotted by a Maritime Rescue plane 26 miles southeast of Torrevieja with a score of people on board. The fifth was sighted in waters of El Campello with 14 other immigrants on board and also transferred to the Port of Alicante to be attended by Red Cross personnel.

Also, this Saturday, Salvamento Marítimo intercepted a dinghy with 16 men on board of Algerian origin, one of them a minor, off the coast of Santa Pola (Alicante).
