With Andre Onana edging ever closer to Manchester United, Inter have reportedly now turned to Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Multiple Italian sources, including Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, are confident that a deal will eventually be reached with United for around €55m, including bonuses.
The offer has not reached that level yet, but they are getting close to the point where Inter will capitulate.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri need to find a replacement and the last mentioned intriguing option is the 36-year-old French international Lloris.
His contract with Spurs only runs until June 2024 and the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli opens the way for him to take over the gloves in London.
Ironically, Vicario had been Inter’s first choice to replace Onana and Tottenham defeated them for the job.
According to Footmercato and L’Equipe in France, Inter have been increasing the pressure on Lloris in the last 24 hours.
Lloris himself had told the Nice-Matin newspaper in June that this was “the end of an era. I’m looking forward to other things and I’ll ask myself to look at what might be possible.”
If Inter sign Lloris, they could also bring in Anatolij Trubin from Shakhtar Donetsk to make sure someone still has experience.
Samir Handanovic’s contract with Inter has already expired, but they are ‘evaluating’ the possibility of a new deal.
