Inter Milan target Federico Chiesa could very well stay at Juventus this season and then leave for free next summer.
This is reported in today’s print edition of the Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNewsThey report that the 26-year-old could remain at the Bianconeri for the duration of his contract even if he is out of the project.
One thing seems very clear: Juventus do not want Chiesa in their squad for the coming season.
The Italian international is not in the plans of the new Bianconeri coach, Thiago Motta.
Juventus are therefore aiming to sell Chiesa this summer.
And then, the contractual situation of the former Fiorentina winger is another problem.
Chiesa’s contract with Juventus expires at the end of next June.
This summer would therefore represent the last major opportunity for the Turin giants to cash in on the 26-year-old.
Otherwise, the only possibilities would be for Juventus to sell Chiesa in January for a cut-price fee – or see him leave for nothing next summer.
Inter target Federico Chiesa could stay at Juventus and leave for free next summer
Juventus have made every effort to get rid of Chiesa this summer.
And some big clubs from Serie A and Napoli have reportedly expressed interest in signing the Italian international.
But so far, no concrete offers have been made for Church have materialized.
This naturally puts Juventus in a delicate position.
The Bianconeri continued to communicate to Chiesa that they were considering parting ways with him this summer. He was left out of the squad.
But if no offer is accepted by Juventus and Chiesa, the 26-year-old will still be a Juventus player in the end.
The question would then arise whether the Bianconeri Motta decide to reintegrate Chiesa into the project or not.
But either way, a new contract seems extremely unlikely.
This would certainly open the door to Inter.
The Nerazzurri are no strangers to big-money free transfers. And they could wait patiently for Chiesa to be available on those terms and then make their move next summer.
