MILANO – The party program for Inter’s second star is starting to take shape. The match day will be Sunday, when the weather is expected to be nicer. The match between the Nerazzurri and Torino will be played at San Siro at 12.30pm. Once the ninety minutes plus injury time are over, the celebrations will begin, the program of which may be subject to changes in the coming days. The change of date for the match – initially scheduled to be remedied at 3.30pm – was due to a request from the prefecture. On Sundays, in fact, with offices and shops closed, the streets are freer.
The open top bus
Inter’s original idea was to have the open bus with the players on it leave from the headquarters in via Liberazione, in the Garibaldi-Repubblica area. But for convenience it was decided to work on the possibility of starting it from the stadium. The departure from the Meazza should take place around 4.30pm. After passing under the Inter headquarters, the bus will reach Piazza Duomo, it is estimated, around 8.30pm. The route could touch Piazzale Lotto, Piazza Firenze, Piazza XXV Aprile, Viale della Liberazione (Inter headquarters), Piazza Repubblica, Piazza Scala.
The party in the Cathedral
Once they arrive in the square on Sunday evening, the Inter footballers will go up to the main balcony of the Duomo 21 venue, from where they have already looked out (but from side balconies) after the victory over Milan on Monday night, which gave the Nerazzurri club the second star. From there, thanks to an audio system, the Inter players will speak to the fans gathered in the square. They will be presented by Mirko Mengozzi, official speaker at San Siro when Inter plays at home.
The delivery of the cup
The Italian champions’ cup will be presented to captain Lautaro Martinez at the Meazza stadium, after the match against Lazio, scheduled for the weekend of 17-19 May, on a date to be defined. The Serie A League stage set up on the pitch will be used by Inter for a further moment of celebration, with the possibility (yet to be confirmed) of concerts or choreographic shows.
Dinner and shirts
On the evening of the Inter-Lazio match, or more likely the following day, the club will also organize an institutional dinner, with public administrators and sponsors. Among these, obviously, also Nike, which in July will present the new match uniforms, with shield and two stars. Probably, the kits will be available for purchase from the second week of the month, as happens almost every year. Meanwhile, since yesterday, the jersey celebrating the victory has been available in the Inter online store.
