An inter-state thief who committed thefts in different parts of the country has been arrested by the Kerala Police. Sampathi Uma Prasad, a native of Telangana, was arrested. The suspect was arrested from Thiruvananthapuram airport by a special team comprising shadow police. City Police Commissioner CH said that Uma Prasad is accused in three theft cases in Thiruvananthapuram. Nagaraju said.
The theft took place in auto-rickshaws after arriving at Thiruvananthapuram airport from other states. Uma Prasad, a part-time employee of a police station in Telangana, was arrested from the airport this morning by a special police team. City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju said that after committing the crime, the accused’s method is to return by plane without leaving any evidence.
He is also accused in the case of breaking into a house in Petta in the capital and stealing jewelery worth lakhs. There are many cases against the accused including in Andhra. Umaprasad was arrested during the investigation conducted on CCTV. The city police commissioner also informed that the auto workers who helped to find the accused will be rewarded.
