Inter Milan have won their first championship title in eleven years. Thanks to a 1-0 win against Hellas Verona, Inter are eleven points ahead of Atalanta Bergamo, which temporarily takes second place.
Thanks to a 5-0 win against Bologna, the Bergamasken overtook AC Milan, who, after losing points, are still the first pursuer of city rivals Inter. In Atalanta’s runaway victory, the Swiss international Remo Freuler appeared once again as a goal scorer. The 29-year-old made it 3-0 after 57 minutes after winning the ball. Eight minutes earlier, the guest from Bologna was outnumbered by a red card against Jerdy Schouten.
Thanks to the victory, the Bergamasken came back in the all-round competition for the Champions League places. Meanwhile, the Italian series champion Juventus Turin suffered a setback. The team around superstar Cristiano Ronaldo only scored 1-1 at Fiorentina. Napoli, currently classified on a Europa League starting place, will have the opportunity on Monday to catch up on points with a win against Juve’s city rival Torino.
