Istanbul –
Inter Milan still able to smile even though failed to win Liga Champions. Because the Nerazzurri are entitled to prizes of more than IDR 2 T!
Inter face Manchester City at Ataturk Stadium, Sunday (11/6/2023) in the morning WIB. They weren’t seeded, but Inter were able to put up a fight throughout the 90 minutes.
Even Inter have a bigger XG (likely to score a goal) than City. In the end City won with a score of 1-0 through Rodri’s goal in the 68th minute.
Inter had to bite their fingers because they failed to bring home their fourth Champions League trophy. But, behind the sorrow there is still love for the Inter camp.
This is related to the financial side where Inter will receive a prize of around 100 million euros from UEFA as runners-up. That doesn’t include home ticket sales this season, which have reached 40 million euros.
Coupled with an impromptu sponsor ahead of the final, namely Paramount, amounting to 4 million euros, Inter collected a total of 144 million euros or Rp. 2.2 trillion!
Quoted by Italian Football, the total income from the Champions League can at least cover a loss of around 140 million euros in the financial statements ending June 2022.
The loss was due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which hit most European clubs from 2020 to 2022.
Even if you calculate the total other income throughout the 2022/2023 season, Inter is predicted to receive around 400 million euros in income or around IDR 6.3 trillion!
The income is said to reduce losses to 70-80 million euros in financial reports as of June this year, or half of last year’s losses.
Although losses have been reduced, Inter Milan remains to balance the balance sheet this summer by selling players or slashing wages.
Several names such as Andre Onana, Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, and Denzel Dumfries are said to be sold if the offer is tempting.
