Inter Milan just bulldozed AC Milan Of Derby della Madonnina. This victory also made the Nerazzurri set a new record.
Inter vs Milan meet at the Giuseppe Meazza, Saturday (17/9/2023) evening WIB. Both teams both have perfect records in their first three matches.
However, Milan’s perfection means nothing in front of Inter. Despite dominating the match from the early minutes, Milan actually conceded two goals in the first half from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Thuram.
Entering the second half, Milan had hope when Rafael Leao scored a goal in the 56th minute. However, Inter killed it through three additional goals from Mkhitaryan, a penalty from Hakan Calhanoglu and Davide Frattesi.
Inter won 5-1 which was their biggest win in the Milan Derby since March 1974, also by a similar scoreline.
This result also continues Inter’s dominance over Milan throughout this year. Since the beginning of the year, they have met five and Inter have won all of them!
Starting with a score of 3-0 in the Italian Super Cup in January, Inter won 1-0 in the derby of the second volume of Serie A in February, and two wins in the Champions League Semifinals with a score of 2-0 and 1-0.
That means Inter were able to score 12 goals in five matches and only conceded once! Opta noted that this was the first time Inter had done this in the history of meetings with Milan.
The second derby in Serie A will be held on April 21 next year with Milan taking over as hosts. Can Milan stop this bad streak or will Inter win again?
