Inter Milan continued his perfect start in Serie A this season. The beloved one stringing together five consecutive wins after defeating Empoli 1-0.
Inter Milan visited Empoli’s headquarters at the Stadio Carlo Castellani, Sunday (24/9/2023) evening WIB, in continuation Liga Italia. Simone Inzaghi’s troops immediately pressed from the start.
Inter got a chance in the 10th minute. Matteo Darmian’s header met Alessandro Bastoni’s pass towards the goalmouth and was about to be struck by Federico Dimarco. But Ismajli was in the right position to clear the ball.
Inter managed to score a goal in the 35th minute. Marcus Thuram’s volley from close range went into Empoli’s goal, but was disallowed for offside.
GOAL! Inter broke the deadlock in the 51st minute. Dimarco fired a hard shot, meeting Empoli’s sweeping ball, which ended up in the top right corner of the goal!
Empoli threatened back from a set piece in the 66th minute. Filippo Ranocchia’s free kick was blocked by Yann Sommer while bending his body.
Marcus Thuram’s attempt in the 78th minute only came close. His curling shot was still narrowly on the side of the goal.
With this result, Inter Milan remains at the top of the Italian League standings with 15 points from five matches. On the other hand, Empoli are at the bottom and have not won once.
