Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta admitted, the transfer of Achraf Hakimi was immediately realized. Negotiations to bring Hakimi in an advanced stage.
The Moroccan defender shines at Borussia Dortmund after being loaned to Real Madrid for two seasons in 2018. In this season, Hakimi scored 10 assists and five goals in 33 appearances to help. The Borussia runner-up finish in the Bundesliga.
Over the appearance that Dortmund is actually interested in maintaining Hakimi either permanently or extending the loan. However, due to the corona virus pandemic hitting the Dortmund club’s finances it was only able to take the second option, which Madrid refused.
The real worried that if he lent Hakimi again they could lose the player for free when his contract expired in the summer of 2021. Inter then came up with an offer of 40 million euros which Madrid immediately accepted.
Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio is currently working on the Hakimi transfer. Marotta is optimistic that an agreement will be reached soon.
