Inter Miami, with the Argentine Gonzalo Higuaín, beat the San José Earthquakes 1-0 as a visitor, and maintains the chances of qualifying for the round of 16 of the American Soccer League (MLS).
The match was played at the PayPal Park stadium in San José, California, and the only goal was scored by Brazilian Jean Motta (former Santos) at 12 minutes.
Higuaín, who had just scored three goals in 30 minutes on the last date against Cincinnati, was replaced at 72 minutes, while in San José Cristian Espinoza (former Hurricane and Boca) started the 90 minutes.

Inter Miami occupies ninth place in the MLS Eastern Conference and does not currently enter the qualifying zone for the round of 16 due to a lower goal balance than Charlotte and Cincinnati.
