New York, Oct 4 (EFE).- After winning the MLS Supporters’ Shield on Wednesday, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami aspires to break the all-time record for points in the MLS, while in the West the fight continues between the LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC (LAFC) for first place in that conference.
Inter Miami not only won the second title in its history this week after the 2023 Leagues Cup but also guaranteed home advantage throughout the MLS Cup playoff.
Messi and company only have two regular season games left: this Saturday in Toronto and Saturday the 19th at home against Charlotte.
But with 68 points in their locker, Inter Miami could beat the all-time MLS points record, held by the 2021 New England Revolution with 73 points, if they won those two games.
