With overwhelming authority and solvency, Inter ran over Milan (0-2) with a first half of absolute dominance and a second half of intelligent management that brought them closer to their reunion with glory, represented by a Champions League final at the one that has not accessed since the ‘orejona’ was lifted in 2010 and that has 90 minutes to go.
With all the spotlights pointing to the San Siro, with the entire planet waiting for the ‘Derbi della Madonnina’, a match that had not taken place in the Champions League since the 2004-05 season with what is known as the ‘Derby of shame’, there was a team that became great and another that was not up to the task and for which things did not go as expected.

clear dominator
Inter dominated the game and played a game that went much further in the city of Milan with confidence. He jumped into a stadium that he knows perfectly well but that was dressed in the colors of his greatest rival. He didn’t care. He felt at home as well. He played like he’s been in a semifinal the past five seasons and turned what was billed as a close tie into a football bath, especially in the first half.
And it is that only eight minutes it took Dzeko to open the scoring. Established as the starting striker in the big events, the Bosnian once again responded to his coach, this time with an almost acrobatic shot from a corner kick that silenced most of the San Siro.
The early blow made a Milan dizzy that had not managed to get into the game and that without Leao lost its benchmark on offense. And Inter did not miss the opportunity to do more damage. It was Mkhitaryan’s turn to, from the second row, taking advantage of Dimarco’s pass that Lautaro let through, slip easily into the area under the gaze of the ineffective Milan defense to define from inside the area and put land in the middle in 12 minutes. .

Inter was an earthquake
It was unleashed against a Milan that could not cover itself from the blows it received. He bled to death with every action and was nearly dead before the 20th minute if Calhanoglu’s shot hadn’t hit the woodwork. It was being a ‘Nerazzurri’ review, and Bennacer’s injury in the 18th minute was another blow that knocked Milan out in the first half.
The lead on the scoreboard meant that Inter, little by little, slowed down. But the domain was the same. It was not difficult for Inter to reach the area and Milan needed a miracle to clearly overcome lines. Dzeko and Lautaro danced to Tomori and Kjaer; while Darmian, Acerbi and Bastoni had hardly any work on defense. Because Milan was ineffective in attack without its usual lighthouse. Neither Brahim, nor Giroud, nor Saelemaekers generated anything.
In fact, Lautaro, in one of his numerous displays against the ‘rossonera’ defense, caused a penalty that the VAR ended up annulling, but that would have been the final blow for a tie that Milan did not want to give up in the second half, jumping into the more aggressive field, with less to lose.
Perhaps accompanied by a slight feeling of overconfidence from Inter, caused by the overwhelming dominance in the first half, Milan seemed to scare with a shot from Brahim and a clear chance from Messias. It was a kind of mirage, because a few minutes later, Dzeko was once again left alone against Maignan, although this time he could not overcome the French goalkeeper.

It was not the night for the locals
Milan was able to get fully into the tie with a shot from Tonali that hit the post.
Inzaghi managed and gradually introduced pieces to maintain possession and minimize the dangers of a Milan that did not change anything with the entry of Origi or Pobega, resigned to trying to do damage from a distance or with sterile lateral crosses against a defense ‘Nerazzura’ who solved all the approaches.
The first of the two episodes that will take place at the mythical San Siro had a clear owner, an Inter that greatly tipped the scales and presented a candidacy with more than enough arguments to access the ‘Champins’ final. Milan clings to the epic and the history of its shirt to work the miracle and seal a comeback that, seen what has been seen, seems more than complicated.
