The dream came true. Eleven years after his departure, Taison is back in Beira-Rio. Inter announced the return of the striker on Friday. The 33-year-old signs a two-year bond with the club, until mid-2023. The performance has yet to be scheduled.

Taison got the early release of Shakhtar Donetsk last Thursday afternoon. As he already had a signed agreement with the gauchos, as soon as he terminated the contract, he made a return to the heart club. The announcement of the departure from Ukraine also came on Friday.

Inter are now working to regularize the player. But the club can enroll Taison in Libertadores even before the publication of his name in the CBF’s Daily Newsletter (IDB).

According to the regulations, the club has up to 72 hours before the debut to send the list with up to 50 players registered in the Libertadores. This deadline is until Saturday, as the team plays its first game on Tuesday, at 7:15 pm, in Bolivia, against Always Ready.

Conmebol allows five provisional registrations per club, of athletes with contracts still to be registered in the local federations. The attacker falls into this category and may be enrolled. It just won’t be able to act yet, until the name is published in the IDB.

Inter had already tried to repatriate Taison in other seasons, but the negotiation never progressed. Last year, with the end of the link with the Ukrainians (which expired on June 30, 2021), the talks advanced.

The striker, who was wanted to renew and received proposals from other markets, made it clear that he had no such intention. The goal was to return to Porto Alegre and put on the colored shirt again.

Revealed by Inter, Taison won the Libertadores, the South American and the two Gauchões by the club from Rio Grande do Sul. In 2018, he participated in the Brazil group that played in the World Cup in Russia.
