-The State Government urges the people of Puebla to take their pets to the health centers
-The head of the unit indicated that the goal to be applied is one million 202 thousand 031 doses
CITY OF PUEBLA, Pue. – The current government of Sergio Salomón, through the Ministry of Health, informs that the Intensive State Day for Canine Rabies is still in force. In the capital, so far, progress has been less than 50 percent of the estimate and in the rest of the state 80 percent of the established goal.
In this sense, the head of the unit, José Antonio Martínez García recalled that the goal to be applied is one million 202 thousand 031 doses, for which he urged the people of Puebla to take their pets (dogs and cats) to vaccinate first-level medical units in the 10 health jurisdictions from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Likewise, he indicated that the anti-rabies vaccine is applied to healthy animals from the first month of age, while the reinforcement is supplied when they are three and six months old, so it will be necessary to do it every year with canines and cats.
The state has gone 23 years without human rabies and 13 years without a record of the disease in dogs and cats, hence the importance of protecting domestic pets and thus avoiding cases in Puebla.
