All day and all night before, every square inch of the building had been raked. On the spot, 23 experts from the gendarmerie take turns, helped by dogs, to try to formally identify the eleven victims. The samples are then collected in a mobile laboratory, installed yesterday, August 9, in the parking lot of the Strasbourg hospital. Each trace of DNA will be compared, with the help of the families of the victims. At the same time, experts from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) are carrying out other research in the field to identify the causes of the fire. Samples are taken inside the lodge, before being sent to a central laboratory in the Paris region. The vials are heated to around 100 degrees, before being placed in another machine capable of separating the components. At this stage, no track is favored by the prosecution. Investigators also hastily produced a 3D model of the lodge at the time of the fire. It is an essential document to reconstruct with precision the course of the murderous morning. TF1 | Report M.
