About 2,159 new infections were diagnosed daily between 12 and 18 May. That is 22 percent less than in the previous period. The seven-day average rose again between 16 and 18 May from 2,088 to 2,158 infections. The positivity ratio is still 5.8 percent.

The number of deaths continues to fall most sharply. From 12 to 18 May, an average of 19.9 people a day died from the effects of an infection, a decrease of 37.1 percent. covid-19 claimed a total of 24,809 human lives in our country.
