Intensive campaign to eradicate a plague of rats in Santa Cruz de Tenerife | Radio Club Tenerife

The Environment area of ​​the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the work of the company Servicios Antiplagas de Canarias (Seranca) and with the support of the Local Police, has carried out this Tuesday an intensive action for the eradication of a rodent plague that has been detected in the Rambla Pulido area.

The delegate councilor, Florentino Guzmán, has indicated that in this period of confinement there has been a decrease in garbage or out of place food, which were the usual sustenance of these rodents, “what has produced that many of them go out to look for food in unusual places”.

In addition, the mayor pointed out that “Although the activity of a person who persistently and illegally insists on feeding the pigeons continues to be pursued and denounced, we have also verified that the remains of that food are attracting rats to this point of the city.”

With this background, the Santa Cruz City Council has decided to carry out this special action on Rambla Pulido. Also, due to its intensity, It will be carried out with the company’s workers supported by the Local Police to carry out traffic cuts and surveillance.
