The National Emergency Office issued an Early Preventive Warning for the frontal system that will enter the Metropolitan Region, which could cause weak showers this Friday night and snow in the mountains. With winds that could reach 50 km / hour.
From meteorology they announced that more than ten hours of continuous rain could be registered, leaving a very intense rain from Saturday night and Sunday morning.
In this sense, for Saturday the rains would be one of the most intense of the year, registering up to 35 millimeters of rain in foothills sectors such as the Pirque commune, while in Andean sectors 50 centimeters of snow could accumulate. With winds between 50 and 60 km/hour.
From Sernageomin they announced possible floods in Andean sectors, for which they recommend avoiding assistance to places like San José de Maipo.
For Sunday the rains could continue but less intense and intermittently, in the same way 25 millimeters of rain and 25 cm of snow could fall. Already by Monday the showers could decline in the early morning.
The 0°C isotherm would reach sectors of 1,500 meters above sea level.
