A video clip spread among Saudi fans on social media platforms, showing intense moments of tension and fistfights between players of the Al-Ahly and Al-Ittihad handball teams.
Footage filmed from a fan’s camera showed several players involved in skirmishes on the field, as a number of attendees sought to intervene in order to put an end to the tense situation.
Al-Ahly fans also reacted negatively to these skirmishes, as they began repeating the famous phrase in the football stands, “Oh crying, oh crying,” which was used for the first time by Al-Nasr fans who repelled their star and former striker, Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah, who currently plays for the Jeddah club.
The match referee was forced to stop the match for a few minutes until he regained control, after which the two teams continued the Clásico.
