“Intel’s Q1 2023 Profits Drop by Three-Fold Due to Revenue Decline in all Segments”

Intel management reported a three-fold decrease in profit in the first quarter of 2023. Data about this appeared in the financial report of the company.

From January to March, Intel earned $2.76 billion, while for the same period in 2022, profit was $8.11 billion. Revenue declines were observed in all segments. The sales of processors for laptops (falling from $6 to $3.4 billion) and server CPUs ($2.6 billion to $1.9 billion) were the hardest hit.

Operations related to investments and securities allowed to slightly compensate for the losses. In particular, their yield increased from 1.4% in 2022 to 23.6% in 2023. In addition, the FPGA matrix segment showed growth, but the server segment still remained in the red.
