Intel’s new reference cooler gets stuck in the picture

Pictures of Intel’s reference cooler for Alder Lake processors without K-suffixes are now stuck on the picture. On closer inspection, however, it does not look too impressive.

What is said to be the completed edition of Intel’s new standard coolers for its locked Alder Lake processors should now be stuck in the picture. Apparently, they have taken inspiration from AMD’s Wraith coolers with RGB lighting. And that you have decorated the radiator with much more plastic than you did before.

The image that is now circulating shows a cooler with compact dimensions. Not entirely surprising as it is not expected to handle more than 65W processors. However, at a quick glance, it appears to have much larger heat sinks than it actually has. The outer edge of the radiator is not made of aluminum, but in fact it is acrylic plastic that the outer flanges consist of.

Inside the plastic flanges, we see a ring for LED lighting. The assembly system is what we have seen from Intel for many years. A set of four pins that are rotated to the open position and then pushed down into the mounting holes on the motherboard.

The radiator is said to go via the name RM1. The family of new reference coolers from Intel is said to have an even larger model called HM1. How much more mass we will see once it is uncovered remains to be seen. If previous rumors turn out to be true, Intel will launch the locked Alder Lake processors at the beginning of next year in connection with CES 2022. At the same time, the manufacturer is also expected to unveil motherboards with the new control circuits H670, B660 and H610.
