Intel will retire Comet Lake processors next year

Introduced in the second quarter of 2020, the 10th generation Intel Core processors have already become obsolete, so in anticipation of the 13th generation (Raptor Lake) processors on the market, the company has decided to clean up the range of desktop solutions right at the price of tenth generation models. It will be possible to order them until April next year and the last batch will be shipped at the end of October.

The list of eligible models is extensive and includes Core i9, Core i7 and Core i5 series processors, as well as entry-level workstation Xeon W-12xx platform models. Next generation processors such as Core i3 and Pentium were not included in this list and some of the Core i9, Core i7, Core i5 and Xeon W models with the letters “E” and “TE” in the designation are carried over to the solutions segment embedded, and therefore will be provided over a few years.

In the general case, Intel customers will be able to place an order for the supply of the listed categories of Comet Lake desktop processors until April 28, 2023 and the last batch will be shipped on October 27 of the same year. Box and tray versions are subject to the same availability dates. As a rule, transformers of discontinued models can be found on sale and a few years after the termination of supply.
