Intel will release first NUC laptop with 15.6 “screen and Tiger Lake CPU in January – Computer – News

Intel has announced the NUC M15 Laptop Kit, one whitebooklaptop with Tiger Lake i5 or i7, a 15.6 “IPS display and up to 16GB of memory. The laptop is not sold by Intel itself, but will be offered by partner companies from January.

The NUC M15 gets according to Intel an aluminum housing in gray or black. The laptop is 14.9mm thick and weighs 1.65 kilograms. Intel does not specify which CPUs the laptop will get. According to The Verge the laptop an i5-1135G7 or an i7-1165G7. According to Intel, these work in the NUC M15 at 28W, which means that the i5 has a clock speed of 2.4GHz and the i7 has a clock speed of 2.8GHz. The turbo clock on the i5 goes up to 4.2GHz, on the i7 it goes up to 4.7GHz. Both quad-core CPUs get an Iris Xe GPU.

Furthermore, the laptops get 8GB to 16GB of soldered memory and a ‘multiple’ storage configurations, depending on the brand that sells the laptop. The screen has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and can be supplied with or without a touch-sensitive display. The 73Wh battery offers a battery life of up to 16 hours, according to Intel.

Below the chiclett keyboard is a glass Windows Precision trackpad. The laptop also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 4 Type-C ports, two USB-A ports, a 3.5mm port and an HDMI port. Charging is done through the Type C ports. Both the left and right sides have a Type C port, according to The Verge it doesn’t matter which user wants to charge the port. Finally, the laptop has an LED light strip under the trackpad that works with the Alexa app, there are four microphones above the screen and there is a webcam that can handle Windows Hello.

It is not yet clear who will sell the MC15. It is also not known whether the laptop will come to Belgium or the Netherlands. Intel does say it is responsible for warranty issues and driver support. Intel is aiming for a price of between 1019 euros and 1529 euros. These amounts have been converted including VAT and depend on the chosen version.

Last year, Intel showed the MAG-15, a gaming laptop that was later sold by Schenker in Europe. Intel says it wants to release its own laptop more often. At the same time, the company does not expect to offer a full line-up of laptops, as companies like Dell and HP are now doing.
