Intel Core i5-14600 14th generation Raptor Lake Refresh was 5% slower, but more energy efficient than the i5-14600K

Benchmark results for the upcoming 14-core 14th Gen Intel Core i5-14600 processor have been revealed by enthusiast ECSM ahead of its launch next year.

Processor Intel Core i5-14600 part of the series Raptor Lake Refresh The 14th generation, unlike the “K” chips, are designed to not provide any overclocking support as the core chips are expected to be shipped in large quantities and this can be a nightmare for Intel’s warranty department. Like other Raptor Lake Refresh models, the Core i5-14600 has a 200 MHz boost clock speed over its predecessor, and that’s it.

The Intel Core i5-14600 has a 14-core/20-thread configuration with 6 performance cores and 8 energy-efficient cores. The processor’s specifications are similar to its 13th-gen counterpart, suggesting that the performance difference is negligible. However, the distinguishing factor is the maximum turbo clock speed, which is set at 5.2 GHzwhich is only 200 MHz more than the Core i5-13600.

Moreover, the AIDA64 stability test showed that the MTP (maximum turbo power) for the Core i5-14600 is very similar to its previous counterpart at 156 W. The processor peaked at 81°C and a clock speed of 4.8 GHz for all P-cores and 3.9 GHz for all E-cores. A non-K processor means that overclocking was not required, since board manufacturers also abandoned overclocking on the BCLK bus due to restrictions imposed by Intel.

The Intel Core i5-14600 processor was also tested on Cinebench R23 and CPU-Z under MTP, which gave a broader idea of what to expect from the processor if it were to be overclocked. Starting with Cinebench, the processor managed to score 1992 points in single-core tests and 22768 in multi-core tests. In CPU-z tests, the chip scored 837 points in single-core testing and 9395 points in multi-core testing.

The Intel Core i5-14600 and the rest of the 14th Gen Non-K processor lineup will remain the same prices as the 13th Gen processors, so you can expect a slight improvement in performance. As for the release dates for the remaining Intel Raptor Lake Refresh chips, they are expected to go on sale in January 2024 after the official announcement at CES 2024.
