Intel Arc A380 launched in China – will beat the RX 6400

The time has finally come. We now have three manufacturers in the graphics card market as Intel has launched its first discrete graphics card called the Intel Arc A380. A graphics card that is said to beat AMD’s Radeon RX 6400 at a lower price.

For several years, Intel has been talking about its major graphics investment that will see the company launch discrete graphics cards to challenge AMD and Nvidia. Now we have finally arrived at the launch of the first discrete graphics card from the blue team. The graphics card is currently only available in China but will find its way to other markets during the summer.

Intel Arc A380 is a graphics card for the entry-level segment. It will be equipped with 128 computing units for a total of 1,024 cores. We also see eight dedicated Xe cores designed for machine learning. Until then, we find six gigabytes of GDDR6 video memory that operates over a 96-bit wide memory bus for a memory bandwidth of 192 GB / s.

In terms of performance, Intel believes that the graphics card is intended for 1,080p gaming with the graphics settings on medium. Here, the device will beat AMD’s Radeon RX 6400 and offer 25 percent higher performance per Chinese yuan.

The image above shows how the graphics card should reach 101 frames per second in both Apex Legends and Fortnite. In DotA 2, it should be able to pump out 230 frames per second.

Intel has confirmed that the graphics card will be available globally later this summer. In China, where it has been launched, it carries a price tag of 1,030 yuan, which corresponds to about 1,900 – 2,000 kronor. Exactly when we may see the graphics card on Swedish store shelves, however, remains to be seen.
