According to reports, in order to reduce operating costs, Intel notified the operating costs of Intel’s manufacturing unit working in Ireland. This is also part of the voluntary leave scheme implemented by the company.

“The voluntary furlough program gives us the opportunity to reduce short-term operating costs and provide employees with attractive relaxation options,” Intel said in an emailed statement, also emphasizing that manufacturing talent is an important part of the company’s operations in Ireland.

It is understood that Intel has nearly 5,000 employees in Ireland.
