“Integration through sport” – as the largest interest group in Germany, organized sport is one of the most important fields of action in social integration. Our NRW sports clubs are also a place where such a welcoming and recognition culture can be filled with life in an exemplary manner. In an interview, Sebastian Finke (Head of the LSB Competence Center for Integration and Inclusion in Sport), Christopher Tegethoff (“Integration through Sport” specialist at the Lippe District Sports Association) and the Syrian Hazem Shihab (Integration Working Group at TV Lemgo) explain how the integrative power of Sports can be successfully integrated into everyday club life – and where persuasion is still required.
