Amsterdam – Damage caused by extreme weather is becoming increasingly difficult to insure. For example, up to 1 million houses in the Netherlands are at risk of subsidence, but there is no longer an insurer you can go to for this. The Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) warns this in a report on Thursday.
