Insurance technology company “Balcia” has concluded an agreement with “Tesla” electric car sharing platform “OX Drive”, giving KASKO insurance customers the opportunity to choose an electric car of this brand as a trade-in car. The aim of the cooperation is to promote sustainable mobility in the urban environment and to encourage Latvian residents to choose more environmentally friendly vehicles in the future.
Europe has set strict climate neutrality targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, in the transport sector, around 83% of carbon dioxide emissions are still caused by road transport. “Balcia” in cooperation with the electric car sharing platform “OX Drive” is committed to making electric cars more accessible to its KASKO customers by offering them as a trade-in car while the insured vehicle is being repaired.

Both existing and new Balcia customers who have selected the appropriate car replacement coverage will have the option to use a Tesla as a replacement car if the insured vehicle needs repairs. When applying for an exchange vehicle, customers will have the opportunity to reserve a car upon receiving it at the specified address, or with the help of the “OX Drive” mobile app, start using any nearby shared Tesla vehicle.
