Ludwig Hager, who runs the butcher’s shop of the same name in Kößlarn (Passau district), paid into the business closure insurance for 30 years. Now Allianz has sent him the notice of termination.
“We cannot continue your contract in its current form. We will therefore terminate it in due time on 02/01/2021,” said the insurer’s letter.
Allianz cites the corona pandemic as the reason. This is an “extraordinary situation that is facing major challenges for all of us and turning our lives upside down,” says the letter addressed to Ludwig Hager. And further: “Challenges always bring changes with them – also in terms of insurance coverage. We have therefore revised our company closure insurance and are discontinuing our previous company closure product.”
